March 2, 2008

My cousin, Adam, was here for the weekend to help me get some cleaning done around the house, but I discovered I'm not as recovered as I thought I was. After cleaning off the couch in the livingroom and doing some dishes yesterday, I took a 4 1/2 hour nap. Cooking dinner made me even more tired, and I had only been awake for 1 1/2 hours. We sat all evening and watched movies. I even went to bed early and had no problem falling asleep, something that doesn't usually happen when I take a long nap.

Today, I let Kasey out like I usually do. Adam let her back in and I heard, "Kasey! You're all wet!" Because I hadn't been out, I thought maybe it was raining...but noooooooooooooooo! She FINALLY discovered that she lives on the water! She was filthy! Not only had she gone wading in the creek (more like a tidal river that doesn't flow, since it's several hundred feet wide), BUT she also rolled in dirt afterwards. Of course she was grinning from ear to ear! I didn't know whether to laugh or beat the crap out of her! I opted to laugh and take pictures. So here's Kasey's before and after pictures... because we went straight to the do-it-yourself dog wash! I think that was punishment enough, because Kasey loves wading but hates getting a bath.

  1. Oh, what a mess she was. :D But she looks good as new after her bath. Don't ya just love how our furbabies can drive us nuts, but we love them anyway. :-)

  2. You sure that's the same dog?? LOL Great to catch up with you and read your blogs from the last few weeks. I hope you continue to get strong. You are certainly making great progress on your stitching again!

  3. Love that story. Kasey is definately a true golden! Giving a dog a bath can be very tiring though! I know that I don't usually do it alone and really try to pawn it off on my husband cause by the time we are done, I am as wet as if I took a bath too - but smell like wet dog! Yuck.
It looks she is dreaming of her adventure that she throughly enjoyed! LOL
