April 5-6, 2008

Sue, Laura, and I left the house Saturday morning to finally go to the LNS Sue had been raving about. Haus Tirol was great! I found the Blue Ribbon Designs Patriotic Wishes Vol. 2., some gorgeous hand-dyed iridescent fabric for Queen of the Needle, some linen for my HIH Wee charts, and more over-dyed flosses for planned projects. They even had in stock the embellishment pack for Black Magic and the extra Glass Treasure I needed to complete the kit for Elizabeth's Designs' Nature's Alphabet.
We dropped Laura off at home and Sue and I went to Ben Franklin, where I purchased all the DMC I would need to complete Common Ground, Black Magic, Nature's Alphabet, and Midnight Clear. They still have their DMC for 4/$1.00, so it was less expensive there than buying it up here. Now the only thing left to get to complete kitting up my 2009 stitching is the silks for Amethyst Snowflake.

I spent Saturday night organizing Sue's DMC into cabinets like the ones nuts and bolts are kept in. She had two with 60 drawers each and I still had some drawers overflowing. Every time I thought I was done, one of us would find another bag of floss somewhere. And since I couldn't sleep when I was finally done, I even put her Weeks floss into alphabetical order on the storage rings. If I could've found her GAST, I'd have put that in alphabetical order, too! What can I say? I'm a little anal about organizing. Needless to say, I was up alot later than everyone else.

I woke up this morning in time to get my stuff together to go home. Laura likes to leave early so that she can get settled back in at home. We got to my house around 2pm and Kasey and Chet were excited to have me back. Dunno why, cuz it's obvious they don't care when I leave, LOL! They wouldn't let me out of their sight the rest of the day and Chet spent most of it sitting on my leg so I couldn't get away from him.

I also had a package waiting for me when I got back. Miss Deborah from ILCS sent me a digital camera that her husband couldn't get to work. It worked fine out of the box for me. She also sent two Tokens & Trifles kits. Both are from the Miniature Quilt Collection: Grandma's Flower Garden and Baltimore Album. Thank you, Miss Deb!

I finished my Liberty Heart bread cover before I went to bed. This makes finish number 14 for the year.
