Believe it or not, all my progress on Stars & Stripes was made before 9am. Only because that's when I went to sleep! I'm so happy because the border took me six days and now I feel like I'm zipping along on this! I could've gotten more done, but I was watching movies on NexFlix, too. I can take Curly Top and Paradise, Hawaiian Style off my list now. I woke up at 5:00 this afternoon not feeling too well. I'm pretty sure my blood pressure is too low, but nothing I've done over the course of the evening has made me feel any better. I'm having blackouts and dizziness when I stand, but it only lasts about 5 seconds. After that, I'm okay, but I feel weak.
It really hit me when I was out running errands around 7:00pm. I was making hot tea to get some sugar into my system and opened the carton of half-and-half that I bought Saturday night. When I pulled the tab off the carton's opening, some splattered on my hand and I licked it off. It was sour! The expiration wasn't until July 14! So I grabbed my can of ginger ale and headed out to the truck to return the carton of sour half-and-half.
Since I was already out, I decided to go to the Dollar Tree and see if they had anything. They must have gotten a whole shipment of Disney items, becuase they had kaliedescopes, paddle balls, magic towels (they expand into a washcloth when you get them wet), books, stamp sets...and the list goes on! I loaded up on little things for Breanna, Anna Lynn, and Caleb. I was really happy to find things that were appropriate for Anna and Caleb. It's easy to get toys for a six-year-old, but it can get challenging when they're two and a half and one.
I also found some Soduku books for Dad for Father's Day, as well as some shower gel and bath spray that I can use as presents later in the year. My best find of the night, though, was a 20x30" foam mounting board! This is going to come in very handy for making pinkeeps and mounting other pieces for framing. As a matter of fact, I'll probably go back and get two or three more of them.
I was going to go to JoAnn's too, but I remembered that I didn't have my flier with me. Somehow I got taken off their mailing list last month, so I want to be sure to get my address scanned every time I go to avoid that happening again. I have to get elastic to make an Assistance Dog harness for Kasey and some kind of cover for my Q-snaps. After noticing that the edges of the fabric on both Southern Stars and Medley were somewhat dirty, I want to avoid that in the future by assuring myself the fabric is protected. I have plenty of fabric in my stash to use but I don't have any elastic to keep it in place. Of course, whatever I do, it's going to be purple!

I hope you're feeling better now. Don't work too hard and be sure to rest a little. You've been working so hard on getting caught up with stitching not to mention all the traveling you've been doing. When do you sleep again?!?! LOL
ReplyDeleteStitching is looking great. Hope you are feeling better. Sounds like some great finds. You can also use pipe insulation for your Q-snaps, they have foam ones and just cut them to size.
ReplyDeleteThe picture is coming along nicely! I know, borders seem to take forever! buying for little ones is always fun! I had the two granddaughters yesterday and we did stitching and beading while their brother (10 mos.) wasn't here! I need to resign up for Joann's too! Went to AC Moore yesterday and picked up some stitching items. When my BP is low, they tell me eat salt! soup, broth, etc.. I am on meds to increase it...but it doesn't always work!
