The only good thing about this week is the Blue Angels. "The Blue Angels, the U.S. Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron (USNFDS), is a mix of formation flying and solo routines using F/A-18 Hornets. The pilots perform approximately 30 maneuvers during the aerial demonstration, which runs approximately an hour and 15 minutes." (http://www.blueangels.com/index.shtml) And they fly RIGHT OVER my house! That's one of the perks to living in Annapolis, home of the United States Naval Academy. To honor the graduating class, the Blue Angels practice on Tuesday and do their official show on Wednesday every year during Commissioning Week. I just walk outside and watch.
Friday is graduation at the Naval Academy and there are several streets shut down to traffic so that the Midshipmen can march from the Academy grounds to the Stadium where the ceremony occurs. We're within walking distance of both, so I just stay home and avoid the chaos. Parents and other family members are flocking to Annapolis from all over the country to see their Midshipman graduate. To top it off, it's Memorial Day Weekend, the official beginning of the Summer Beach Season, so Annapolis will be gridlocked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with all the traffic heading to the Maryland and Delaware beaches. Unfortunately for me, I live six miles from the only Maryland crossing of the Chesapeake Bay, which is the only way for everyone on this side of the Bay to get to the beach. Let me just say "I HATE TOURISTS!!"

On the stitching front, I've made even more progress on Southern Stars this week! This picture was taken on Wednesday. The little red, white, and blue heart on the top is my needleminder, so don't go thinking I totally fell off my rocker and stitched a patriotic heart on there! I love Old Glory, but I do not put it on all my pieces! LOL

I had my entire dialysis treatment to stitch on Friday, as well as some time at home and progressed even further.
I had an 8:45 doctor's appointment Saturday morning. I even got there! ...at 8:47. As most of you know, I am NOT a morning person. Well, I need to rephrase that. I don't wake up in the morning because that's when I go to bed! So, after going to sleep at 6am, I woke up at 7:30am when uncle Wes dropped 10 gallons of rum punch in the basement and expletives flew up through the floor to my ears. He was supposed to be taking it to a party this afternoon but the handles broke while he was carrying it outside. Guess being in and out of the freezer so many times finally weakened the plastic. Anyway, I had 1 1/2 hours of sleep and couldn't doze off again.
I got to the doctor's office late, so I didn't have time to stop at Wawa and grab a 1/2 gallon of Lemonade Tea. Dr Samaras's P.A. couldn't hear my blood pressure. This was supposed to be a routine medical clearance for my surgery that I'm having Thursday morning and ended up being anything but. Why? Um, well, I passed out on the doctor as he was taking my blood pressure. It totally bottomed out on me.
I woke up to Dr Samaras and Barbara (the PA) picking me up and putting me on the examining table. I know I asked for a drink a couple times before I went lights out, but I think Dr Samaras didn't hear me. I got some water and some sodium bicarbonate pills and felt better almost immediately. They, of course, wouldn't let me drive home, so Uncle Wes came and picked me up. Luckily he was across the street at the Home Depot when I called. Wes dropped me off at the house and I went right to bed (with a big glass of cold water). I didn't wake up til about 4:30, so I made up for the missed sleep, but I was going to clean the kitchen this weekend and that's just not going to happen.

So I get to stitch and watch movies all day! I'm watching No Reservations that Netflix sent this afternoon and then I have all the Love Comes Softly movies (yes, All 6 of them!) on my DVR that I plan on enjoying this evening. We'll see how far I get before I go back to bed.
