July 6, 2009

Continuing in yesterday's vein, I worked right past midnight on Ocean Star, completing all the purple squares and diamonds before going to bed. For some reason repetitive stitching in needlepoint doesn't lose its interest for me like it does in cross stitch. Maybe it's because progress is seen much quicker in NP than in XS? Most NP stitches certainly cover more fabric than an X!

It was back to dialysis today. Since I played hooky on Friday I couldn't get out of going today. Well, not without a really good reason, anyway. "Because I don't wanna" isn't good enough, unfortunately. It'll work for one treatment, but no more. I didn't take anything to stitch, choosing to read instead. For some reason neither the book I read before going to sleep last night nor the Jane Feather book I read during today's treatment really kept my interest. Luckily I have several others from which to choose!

Once home, I did more work on Ocean Star. I wanted to see all the colors together so I did some of the fill-in in Watercolours' Moonglow as well. I'm very happy with my color choices. I think they combine for an overall pleasing-to-the-eye result. None overpowers the others and none blend unnoticeably into one another, either.
