So much has happened, I'm not even sure where to start.I guess I should let you know that my surgery on September 12 was a success. When I finally got home that afternoon (after we stopped by the bank to deposit my financial aid check and went to browse around RoomStore for a new dresser for me) I couldn't sleep. Uncle Wes moved his desk from his bedroom to the living room so that I have an actual workspace for school.
The first picture was taken with the desktop closed. There is tons of storage space in it, so I moved all my office supplies and reference books onto the shelves. I even had enough room for my iHome; now I can listen to my iPod's classical playlist while I work.
Yes, I did all this moving the same day I had surgery. My arm was numb anyway and I couldn't sleep. What else was I supposed to do?With the desktop open, you can see my cork/whiteboard where I post my weekly schedule and important reminders. I was able to clear everything from around my recliner and clean up the living room alot because all the loose papers and stacks of books went into the new-to-me desk. Thank you, Uncle Wes!
Underneath the desktop is storage for extra supplies and things I don't often use. It's also a safe place to store whichever laptop I'm not currently using. My
Palm Zire71 PDA is down there, along with a suprising number of pens and pencils I've somehow managed to collect over the years. I'm still debating whether to re-load my Palm software onto one of my computers so that I can use my Zire71. It's been collecting dust for years but I was inspired to bring it out of retirement when I saw a friend at Borders using hers.

It's been collecting dust for years but I was inspired to bring it out of retirement when I saw a friend at Borders using hers. My desire to have everything sorted has reached new heights. I have color-coded the materials for each of my classes so that everything dealing with Grammar (ENG160) is bright green and everything dealing with Algebra (MAT012) is purple. That even goes for the folders and pencil holders inside the binders. I bought a set of erasers and coincidentally there was a purple and a bright green large eraser which worked perfectly into my system. My reasoning was that it would be easier to grab all the needed books and supplies for my classes. I ended up forgetting at least one thing each class, however. My solution was to buy another bag. The new one is-you guessed it-green and white canvas, in the same style as the lavender one. Now I don't have to unpack the bag immediately after each class in preparation for the other one. I told you I'm stuck in School Mode, didn't I?
Sunday was a complete antithesis of Saturday mainly because the anesthesia, steroids, and IV painkillers had worn off. I spent the majority of my day watching shows from my DVR and catching some movies on Turner Classics.
