Even more progress! I finished another side of the motifs around the green chain border before I went to sleep.Today was very strange schedule-wise. I went to sleep at 8:00am thinking that I wouldn't have dialysis until 2:30pm. Then I got a call at some point telling me to be at the clinic at 10:30. Therefore, I got two whole hours of sleep!
I did absolutely no stitching at dialysis. I wasn't about to mess up Mount Coot-tha, so I napped most of my treatment. When I wasn't sleeping I was reading one of the books I checked out from the library. It's another "mindless" romance, so it didn't require much thought. Once again, the Vivaldi Podcast from Magnatune put me right to sleep! I don't know what it is about listening to Vivaldi on my iPod that knocks me out because I've listened to Vivaldi on the radio or a record (yep! I'm THAT old!) without dozing off!
I'm at my mom's in Elkton for the weekend. Dad was playing music (bass guitar) with one of
his bands, Over the Edge, at Susky's Riverside Grille on the Susquehanna River. Mom and I went to see them and we were joined by Mom and Dad's neighbors, Ed and Sheila. The four of us had dinner and Dad sat down to eat on a break between sets.I have to say the food was very good! Sheila and I had a salmon fillet with real mashed potatoes. It was served with grilled vegetables. I loved the burbon teriyaki marinade on the fish. Mom and Ed had the crab cake sandwiches with French fries. They said the crab cakes were equally delicious. We also had a few drinks; the first time I've had any alcohol since last summer. They were tasty, but must have been weak on alcohol because I had two and a half drinks and didn't even get giggly. Usually, three drinks would have me sleeping on the floor!
My little sister and her two kids are here for the weekend and I'm taking care of my neice, Anna, who is almost three years old. Sarah got T-boned in Elkton earlier this week and can't pick Anna up because she's having back spasms and the doc told her to take it easy. Anna is my little shadow and has already extracted promises to share my salad (the child LOVES salad!), read her a book, and do a craft project with Aunt Beth tomorrow. Usually she's a little shy when she first sees me, but today was a totally different story! Sarah said Anna got really excited when she told her that I was coming up. She poked her babysitter in the leg and said "'Ue! 'Ue! 'Eppy up! 'Eppy up!" Translated from Anna-speak, that's "Sue! Sue! Aunt Beth up! Aunt Beth up!"
Anyway, I've got Anna for the weekend, Sarah is here, too, but she's got her 16-month-old son, Caleb, to deal with. Anna is easier for me because Caleb is a Mommy's boy but Anna likes to hang out with her aunts and uncles. She loves making things in the craft room with me and has the ornament we made the last time I was here hanging up at home. Sarah told me tonight that she also carries around the little pillow I made her. She takes it where ever she goes around their house.
Mom has three dozen crabs reserved for us ("us" meaning her and me) for Sunday. There will probably be enough for Sarah, too. Dad refuses to pick crabs and Mom said Ian and his girlfriend, Sara (Yes! It gets confusing!), are on their own because they eat dozens at a time.
Anna and I are camping out in the craft room on one of the air mattresses because Sarah and Caleb are in the guest room I usually occupy. I'm going to turn the laptop and the lamp off as soon as I post this, just in case a little munchkin decides to wake me up before noon! Hopefully she'll take a long nap tomorrow and I'll get a chance to catch up on some of the sleep I've missed this week!

Anna likes to sleep with the covers over her head. The blanket is her Ariel blanket that came in the $6 Disney Princess Room-in-a-box that I found at K-Mart back in April. She named the blanket "Nite-Nite."

Here she is after she pulled the covers back down.
Well, I'm off to get some zzz's myself! Have a great Saturday, everyone!

Get some rest and then have lots of fun at your parents house. It sounds like your niece is a load of fun and adores her Aunt Beth.
