August 10, 2008

I spent most of today staying off my ankle because it's still quite sore. I watched the olympics for the majority of the day. Stitching ADHD struck again and I started Golden Puppy, a Dimensions Gold Collection kit. I've had this for a year and thought a 5x7 would be a quick stitch. I was quickly disabused of that impression when I noticed it was on 18ct Aida. I swapped the Aida for 28ct Monaco and found that the design is going to be quite larger; in fact, almost two inches in each direction.

I sat and stitched for over four hours; the most time I've spent stitching in a single day for the past few weeks. It's beginning to be fun again, so I'll keep at it for as long as that lasts. If I get into another funk, I'm just going to read until I get the desire to stitch again. I'm not worrying about any goals or anything else, because my happiness is more important. I stitch for fun and it's not fun when it feels like a chore. That's when you know it's time to take a break. And I'm listening to those cues!

  1. It's coming along nicely, Beth. I have a couple of projects I'm going to start over with different fabric, too.
